Identity Verification

Last updated: 5 August 2026

GHAYA Jewelry sells gold, precious-metal and gemstone products. In certain circumstances, we must verify a customer’s identity before accepting, processing or dispatching an order. This policy explains when verification may be requested and how the information is handled.

1. Why We Verify Identity

Identity verification may be required to:

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements in Kuwait.
  • Support anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls.
  • Confirm that the purchaser and payment details are genuine.
  • Prevent fraud, misuse of payment methods and unauthorized transactions.
  • Meet courier, customs or international-delivery requirements.
  • Maintain records that GHAYA is legally required to keep.

2. When Verification May Be Required

GHAYA may request verification for a gold or high-value purchase, including when:

  • An order reaches a value or risk level requiring additional checks.
  • The purchaser, payer and recipient details do not match.
  • The transaction, payment or delivery information appears unusual.
  • The order is being shipped internationally.
  • A bank, payment provider, courier, customs authority or regulator requires it.
  • GHAYA must clarify who is purchasing or benefiting from the transaction.

Verification may be requested even after payment and before dispatch.

3. Documents and Information We May Request

Depending on the order, GHAYA may request:

  • A clear, valid Kuwait Civil ID or passport.
  • Your full legal name, nationality, date of birth and contact details.
  • Your residential, billing or delivery address.
  • Confirmation that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.
  • Information about the person receiving or benefiting from the purchase.
  • Additional information reasonably necessary to complete a compliance check.

Please do not send identity documents unless GHAYA requests them and provides an approved submission method.

4. Document Requirements

Documents must be valid, complete, readable and unaltered. The name and other details should match the order and payment information unless a reasonable explanation is provided.

GHAYA may request a clearer or updated copy if a document is expired, incomplete, obscured or cannot be verified.

5. Orders Placed for Another Person

If you purchase for another person or use a payment method belonging to someone else, GHAYA may request information or authorization from the purchaser, payer, recipient or person benefiting from the transaction.

6. Verification Review

An order may remain on hold while verification is completed. Providing a document does not guarantee acceptance of the order. GHAYA may contact you for clarification or conduct additional checks when reasonably necessary.

7. If Verification Is Not Completed

GHAYA may refuse, place on hold or cancel an order if requested information is not provided, cannot be verified, appears incorrect or creates a legal, fraud or compliance concern.

If an order is cancelled after cleared payment, any refundable amount will normally be returned through the original payment method, subject to legal requirements and the payment provider’s processing time.

8. How We Use Verification Information

Verification information is used only for legitimate purposes such as:

  • Confirming identity and order information.
  • Fraud prevention and transaction security.
  • Compliance, audit and legally required record keeping.
  • Responding to lawful requests from competent authorities.
  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

Identity documents are not used for advertising or marketing.

9. Sharing Verification Information

GHAYA may share verification information only when reasonably necessary with authorized staff, professional advisers, payment or fraud-prevention providers, and competent governmental, regulatory or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law.

GHAYA does not sell identity-verification information.

10. Security and Retention

GHAYA uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards to protect verification information. Access is limited to persons who require it for an authorized purpose.

Records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to meet legal, regulatory, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution obligations, and are then securely deleted or disposed of when appropriate.

11. Your Privacy

For further details about personal information, privacy requests and your choices, please read our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to This Policy

GHAYA may update this policy when legal obligations, verification procedures or business practices change. The current version will be published here with its updated date.
